The Shaken Series

"True love doesn't have
a happy ending, because true love
never ends."

Inspiration

I never intended to write a series. Shaken, which was just published by Bella Books as Without Warning, was my first crack at lesbian fiction. It was supposed to be my magnum opus, my one-off shot at writing the sort of Xena & Gabrielle über-tale I had always wanted to read. I expected the characters to go quietly away.

They did not.

When I tell you that characters talk in my head, I hope you know it isn’t (necessarily) a medical condition. What I mean is that they fill my vacant thoughts, those mindless minutes and hours before or after sleep, or when I’m walking through the woods or driving alone. They react to things and converse with one another. Such was the case with Aftershock. This second tale formed in my head almost as soon as the ink was dry on the first. It was a story of despair and heartache, of Anna & Lily torn apart by something beyond their control; and of triumph, one that would make both better people and their love for one another stronger.
