gen_62_1.gifOnly two weeks until the 1st Annual Gay & Lesbian Literary Arts Festival at the Stonewall Library & Archives in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm slated to take part in a panel discussion -- Writing Lesbian Romance Novels -- on Sunday afternoon (April 25th) at 2:30 p.m. Fellow Bella author Karin Kallmaker will lead the discussion, and if you've never heard Karin's take on romance, you won't want to miss it.

I had a wonderful visit out to the west coast. Among the highlights was a brilliant performance of Prove It On Me at the Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs. Thanks to author Dee Jae, composer Michele & all the hardworking staff (Rosie, Rita, Shar, Janice & Mickey) at the LAWTP for a great show and afterparty.

I'm getting excited about the upcoming release of Small Packages, which I hope will heal the angst of Aftershock, not only for Anna & Lily, but for those who scolded me for taking them on such a painful journey. Innocent This third story in the series will leave a smile on your face. I promise! If you don't believe me, have a go at Chapter 1.

I'm wrapping up revisions on Sea Legs. You might recall that this one features an Aussie character by the name of Jo Atkinson, who is also a real person. Jo won the auction at MaryD's last year to be written into this story, and she made a generous contribution to Starship Children's Hospital. The 2009 auction has just wrapped up, and I'm expecting to hear soon about the winning bid to appear in next year's romance, High Inspiration.

If you enjoy talking about books, some readers over at the Bella & Spinsters Author Forum have started a book club. Their first read was Ruth Perkinson's Piper's Someday. If you'd like to take part, and perhaps sign up to lead a discussion of your favorite Bella or Spinsters Ink title, head on over to the Book Club.
