5.15 :: Quick update

I apologize for the very long gap since my last update. My mom's rapidly declining health has crushed me since just before Christmas, and it's been hard to concentrate on being KG.

I've received my editor's notes for Mother Load and I hope to have that one ready to go to typesetting in a couple of weeks. If you're a fan of Anna & Lily, I think you'll enjoy it.

Next week I go to New York for the Lambda Literary Awards ceremony. Worth Every Step is shortlisted in the romance category alongside four stellar offerings from fellow Bella authors Karin Kallmaker & Tracey Richardson, and Bolds Strokes authors Carsen Taite & Colette Moody. Can't wait to see everyone.

Immediately from there, we'll be heading to Orlando for the 6th annual conference of the Golden Crown Literary Society. I'm doing a presentation called "Seven Simple Steps to Writing Memorable Characters," or something like that. I'll also be sitting on a panel on book promotions. I hope they don't ask me to talk about the importance of blogging regularly. Small Packages is shortlisted for a Goldie Award in the Dramatic Fiction category; Worth Every Step is shortlisted in Contemporary Romance, and is also a finalist for the Ann Bannon Award. Hooray!

I promise I'll come back and share more about what I'm working on, but I've got to get through these trying times first.

Just finished reading "Worth Every Step" and I absolutely loved it. I'm planning on buying more of your books. Good luck at the award show, and I hope your Mom is doing better.

Hi KG,

So sorry to hear about your mother, hopefully you will win the Lambda and that will cheer her up, I especially hope you win the Goldie for "Small Packages", a book which is very very special to me. Will you be offering those of us, who live overseas, like me in Germany. A download of your GCLS presentation, I very much hope so, it would be so nice to understand how you personally build your characters. Being enamoured of Louise and Marty for some years and since The Shaken series Anna and Lily. Maybe you can have it video'd and we can download, that nevertheless I thinking I would at the very least enjoy reading it.
Love
Eileen
