If you're a longtime fan of lesbian fiction, you've probably enjoyed the work of Kim Pritekel, author of such terrific tales as First, Lessons & Twilight.

At only 33 years old, Kim is facing the terrifying possibility of permanent blindness unless she gets cataract surgery soon. I could go on a rant about how the US health care system fails people like Kim, but it's a time for action instead. Dozens of lesbian fiction authors & readers have stepped forward to take part in an auction, which is being hosted at AUSXIP by the Xenaverse's MaryD. There are lots of special items available, including some Bella & Spinters titles. I've offered an autographed set of The Shaken Series, and the bids are climbing. I'll pay for shipping, and I'll personalize them just for you.

Update on Women's Week in Provincetown:

After a frustrating week of trying in vain to get my aching back to calm down, I've decided to skip P'Town this year. It was a tough decision, because a) my plane & accommodations were already paid and non-refundable, and b) I really, really wanted to go. Sometimes our bodies scream "Enough!" and we have no choice but to listen. I'm very sorry to be missing all of you, and especially sorry to Mark & Kathryn for canceling my signing events at Now Voyager & Womencrafts. I hope you'll catch up with my fellow Bella author, Karin Kallmaker, and with Spinsters Ink author, JE Knowles, with whom I was slated to appear. Don't be shy about telling them how much you miss me.
