2nd Annual 20% New Works Festival

October 9-11

Hollywood, CA

The 20% New Works Festival is a production of the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Project, an organization founded to give more women an opportunity to showcase their creative theatre work. I attended last year's festival, where director Deejae Cox staged excerpts of my novel, Aftershock, as part of her presentation, Literature in Motion. You can check out my Event Archives for details, and you'll also get a look at the two talented women who brought Anna & Lily to life -- Sharon Gardner & Tara Samuel.

Deejae has another Literature in Motion presentation planned for the 2nd annual event, one she calls "Journeys." She's chosen to include my novel, Worth Every Step, the story of two women on a quest to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. My publisher, Bella Books, is one of the festival sponsors for 2009.

I'm unable to attend this year, as I'll be in Provincetown for the 25th annual Women's Week. However, I encourage anyone with a love of live performance -- and women -- to join them at the Stella Adler Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard for the entire festival. You won't be disappointed. Please visit their website for more information.

Update: Click on the photos below to see the lovely ladies who will be playing Addison, Mary Kate & me (the narrator, that is).
