I have a guest blog this week from Gerri Hill, whose book In the Name of the Father has been short-listed for a Lammy Award in the Women's Mystery Category.
Hi, everyone! I’d like to thank KG for inviting me to post on her blog. My latest, The Rainbow Cedar, is now available from Bella Books. It’s what I like to call a sweet romance. And yes, it does have a happy ending. The idea for this book actually came about when I was thinking of other happy endings in my books. As we know, not all relationships last forever, or end on a good note. So what if you’re one of those women, involved in a long-term relationship that you know is going sour? Do you beg, borrow, steal to save it? Do you watch it disappear slowly, wondering when it started going downhill? Or do you just give up on it, knowing it’s inevitable? Perhaps you’re like Jay Burns, accidentally meeting someone, yet knowing you can’t even begin to think of them as anything but a friend . . . because your relationship is still alive, albeit hanging by a thread. The Rainbow Cedar follows Jay and Drew Montgomery as they meet, form a friendship, and try to maintain their distance—at least emotionally—because one of them is not free. Yes, they’re attracted to each other and yes, they both know it. Yet neither of them wants their budding attraction to be the reason Jay’s relationship fails.
This story takes us from Austin to Hawaii as we watch these two women sort through the varied layers of their relationship to find the true source of their feelings . . . love.
Hope you enjoy getting to know Jay and Drew. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Visit my blog (http://www.gerrihill.com/blog) or drop me an email (
