I didn’t worry much about the venues for this story. It’s set in three places: Greensburg, PA, Cape Coral, FL and the mountains of NC. I’ve lived in all three. In fact, I’m lucky enough these days to live like Marty & Lou, wintering in FL but escaping the summer heat in the NC mountains. I had some fun with the golf-related scenes, because I described most of Marty’s shots the way I envision my own – right down the middle of the fairway within pitching distance of the pin – just before I actually make contact with the ball and send it into the woods.
