Some might consider it an unlikely scenario for a company like Art Conover’s to emerge as a serious threat to Carmen’s company, whose product was intellectually superior. I watched it happen to a small consulting company that was considered the leader in its field. It was undercut by a startup who figured out how to streamline the offerings and cut the cost. Business relationships can be fickle when the money gets tight.
I enjoyed writing the character of Carmen Delallo. Yes, she’s self-indulgent, but she’s also self-aware. And oh-so-irreverent. I’d love to know what you think of her.
