This story has a unique set of characters, two sisters from Brisbane, Australia, who join my ensemble of friends from Rochester, NY. Jo Atkinson won a charity auction to be a character in my book, and then asked if I'd consider bringing her sister along for the fictional ride. I didn't know it while I was writing, but it turns out this will be a very special journey for them. I hope you enjoy their tale.

I have to share a story about my editor, Katherine V Forrest. When an editor zings you with a pithy comment, it often sends the coffee through the nose. Karin Kallmaker can attest to this, because we've begun trading Katherine notes. Katherine regularly tags my manuscript for a lack of descriptive detail. The reader "needs a visual," she says. So at one point in the first draft, I wrote that Natalie was gazing out from her balcony at the beautiful sight. Katherine wrote, "Lucky Natalie. She gets to see it and we don't."
