When this book was in edits, I learned that my longtime editor, Cindy Cresap, had taken a full-time job elsewhere and would no longer be available to work with me. Together, Cindy & I have produced 7 books for Bella:
When I learned she was leaving, I couldn't help but take stock of the lessons I had learned from her tutelage. "Show, don't tell!" was her most common refrain, and she was very big on keeping the focus of the romance on the main characters. Along the way, I discovered that she has a few editing quirks, things that grated on her like nails on a chalkboard. I tried to do those things frequently just to tweak her. I'm definitely going to miss working with Cindy, and I wish her well in her new career. |
