This was not the book I set out to write. In fact, I have 20,000 words of another book about Audie & Beth, chronicling their struggles as a young couple trying to make ends meet. But at some point in that story, I began to think about their relationship, why they knew their love was worth fighting for, and I imagined the tale of how they met. The more I played with it in my head, the more it intrigued me, and I tabled my other idea in favor of a formula romance. I’m happy with the new story, and while I may visit the other story again, it isn’t suited for the characters Audie & Beth grew to be in Sumter Point.
