This book is Susan X. Meagher's fault. She wrote a terrific short story that deserved to be published. But it was too short for a novel, and too long for most erotica anthologies. So Blayne Cooper had the idea of publishing a novella compilation with an undercover theme, and they were kind enough to invite me along. Whenever I think of people working undercover, two occupations come to mind-cop and private detective. Unfortunately, they came to mind for Meagher & Cooper first, and when they came to me with their stories, I had to look elsewhere for ideas. Vonne Maglio's story was one I had played with in my head, and it seemed a perfect fit.
